The Position:

We're looking for someone who can learn and adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment. Engineering at Prevess involves developing backend systems to enable our predictive personalization. This includes building backend applications, infrastructure, and collaborating with the front-end team. You will brainstorm and influence new features and software components. The software stack includes microservices and serverless functions built with Java and Node.js. Infrastructure is based on AWS cloud with Pulumi for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Job Responsibilities:

• Take part in the full software engineering lifecycle, from idea generation and brainstorming to implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Use appropriate software design practices to implement backend-end software and supporting infrastructure.
• Iteratively deliver product increments to our internal, user, and customer-facing systems.
• Participate in setting up the platform ecosystem and engineering best practices.

About You:

• You have 3+ years of backend or full-stack development experience.
• Proficiency in Java, Node.js, or similar general-purpose programming language.
• You enjoy designing and building systems that last rather than one-off solutions and have the ability to think in a test-driven and modular fashion.
• Ability to organize and clearly communicate ideas.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with ultra-short iterations using continuous integration/delivery and pair programming
• Experience working with NoSQL and relational databases
• Experience working with AWS infrastructure using IaC tools like Pulumi/Terraform
• Experience implementing microservices or serverless architecture
• Experience with event streaming technologies such as Kinesis, Kafka
• Experience or strong interest in modern frontend development and AI
